The problem? One half of Andrea really needs to send an email. The other would rather sing, dance, cook, and track down the perfect tortilla recipe — just like mamá used to make. What begins as simple procrastination quickly spirals into a battle of head versus heart, productivity versus pleasure, and rules versus vibes.
This vibrant, high-energy show blends satire and cheeky cultural stereotyping into an inventive, engaging rollercoaster of identity confusion, domestic drama, and spicy existential questions like: “Do tapas even make sense?”
Beneath all the confetti, Chop-chop! is a heartfelt ode to the simple things — food, connection, family. It’s a celebration of our beautifully chaotic minds: the ones that trip us up, make us overthink, and ultimately lead us back to what really matters.
Expect audience interaction, sudden dance breaks, strong accents, and a whole lot of zest and effervescence. It’s silly. It’s heartfelt. It might even make you hungry.
So come for the giggles. Stay for the inner meltdown. Or vice versa. Either way, Chop-chop! will leave you laughing, questioning your calendar, and feeling a little more at home in your contradictions.

About Andrea Holland: 

Andrea Holland is a London-based Spanglish artistic creator born and bred in Spain to a Spanish mother and English father. She is a performer, theatre-maker, facilitator, and voice-over artist. Graduating from the Asturias School of Performing Arts (Spain) with a BA Hons in Acting, she also trained at ESAP Porto (Portugal) in Acting and Directing, and holds a BA in English Studies and Communications from the University of Oviedo (Spain).
With a strong inclination towards Physical Theatre and devising, Andrea trained at LISPA (arthaus.berlin) in Physical Theatre and Performance: Mask and Myth, the Poetic Body, and Ensemble Storytelling in 2018, and took part in Gecko Theatre’s first ever Artistic Professional Residency in 2019.
Throughout her career, she has performed extensively in Spain, Portugal, and the UK, showcasing her versatility and commitment to the craft in diverse environments.
During lockdown, Andrea co-created the international short film Mulheres Que Sangran, Powered by Menstruation, recognised by festivals such as Thessaloniki Free Short Festival, where it was nominated for Best Female Film by a Female Director.
As a founding member of Volpe Theatre, she premiered Hyena in Italy and at VAULT Festival 2023 to sold-out audiences. She is also the co-founder of Herlight Theatre, whose debut show Queendom —a modern fairytale that challenges stereotypes— was performed at Camden Fringe Festival.
Her work, rooted in devised comedy with a feminist lens, explores themes of belonging and identity, provoking thought and laughter simultaneously, and fostering connection through humour.

Chop-chop! es una alocada comedia Spanglish unipersonal, repleta de humor absurdo, juego bilingüe y destreza física. Saltando entre las personalidades  Española e Inglesa, la intérprete Andrea Holland se adentra de lleno en un conflicto interno tan divertido como reconocible —inspirado en el vaivén de sus propias raíces biculturales.

¿El problema? Una parte de Andrea necesita enviar un email, la otra prefiere cantar, bailar, cocinar y buscar la receta perfecta de tortilla —como la de mamá. Lo que empieza como una simple procrastinación pronto se convierte en una batalla entre la cabeza y el corazón, la productividad y el placer, las reglas y las vibras.

Este espectáculo enérgico mezcla sátira y estereotipos culturales con ingenio, convirtiéndose en una montaña rusa de confusión identitaria, drama doméstico y preguntas existenciales tan profundas como: “¿Los tapas tienen sentido?”. Con interacción directa con el público, estallidos de baile inesperados, acentos potentes y mucha chispa, Chop-chop! es una comedia disparatada y entrañable a partes iguales. Bajo todo el confeti, Chop-chop! es también un homenaje a las cosas sencillas —la comida, la conexión, la familia. Una celebración de nuestras mentes caóticas: esas que nos hacen trabarnos, nos hacen sobre pensar y, al final, nos llevan de vuelta a lo que realmente importa.

Ven por las risas. Quédate por la crisis existencial. O al revés. En cualquier caso, Chop-chop! probablemente te dejará con una sonrisa, cuestionando tu calendario y sintiéndote un poquito más en casa en tus contradicciones.

Sobre Andrea Holland:

¡Hola! Me llamo Andrea Holland Vallejo y soy la creadora de Chop-chop! Soy una artista independiente bilingüe española e inglesa, nacida y criada en Asturias de madre asturiana y padre inglés. Soy actriz, escritora, facilitadora y locutora. Me gradué en la ESAD de Asturias (España) con un Grado en Interpretación Textual, y también me formé en la ESAP Porto (Portugal) en Interpretación y Dirección gracias a una beca Erasmus+. Además, he recibido formación en el mundo de la Interpretación con reconocidos profesionales de la talla de Verónica Forqué o Alberto Velasco. Y, también, soy Graduada en Estudios Ingleses con Minor en Comunicación por la Universidad de Oviedo.

Siempre he sentido una fuerte fascinación por el Teatro Físico y la creación colectiva, y por ello me formé en el curso “Teatro Físico y Performance: la Máscara y el Mito, el Cuerpo Poético y la Narración Colectiva” en London International School of Performing Arts (arthaus.berlin) en 2018. También formé parte de la primera Residencia Artística Profesional de la aclamada compañía de Teatro Físico: Gecko Theatre en el 2019.

A lo largo de mi carrera, he actuado en España, Portugal y Reino Unido, demostrando mi versatilidad y compromiso con el arte de la actuación en diversos entornos. Durante el confinamiento, co-creé y co-dirigí un cortometraje con un elenco internacional de artistas titulado “Mulheres Que Sangram, Powered by Menstruation”, reconocido en festivales como Zeitimplus Festival de Viena o en el Thessaloniki Free Short Festival de Grecia, donde fue nominado a Mejor Cortometraje dirigido por una Mujer. Además, soy una de las fundadoras de la compañía Internacional de Teatro Físico: Volpe Theatre, con la que estrenamos Hyena en Italia y en el VAULT Festival de Londres en 2023. También soy cofundadora de Herlight Theatre, una compañía de teatro cómico de creación colectiva. En 2023, estrenamos Queendom, un cuento moderno que desafía los estereotipos de género, en el Camden Fringe Festival de Londres. Mi trabajo, basado en la comedia de creación con perspectiva feminista, explora los temas de pertenencia e identidad, con el objetivo de provocar reflexión y risa simultáneamente, fomentando la conexión a través del humor.
