WORKSHOP #2: Training for Actors; Bodily Poetics. Run by Paula Rodriguez

TIME: 13.15 – 14.45

Description

This workshop is an introduction to the physical and vocal training called: Bodily poetics, developed by our theatre company “Teatro Inverso”. Our method explores how to find the connection with words through physicality when working as actors with classical text.

Through this work you will achieve better understanding of how to use physicality in order to allow the voice to reveal the emotions and thoughts hidden in every line, in an organic and personal way. For this we will use monologues from the Spanish Golden age play Life is a Dream by Calderón de la Barca.

In this physical training session we will practice a series of exercises we have created and developed through the study of Anthropological and Classical Theatre.

The session will be run in English using the translated version (by Teatro Inverso) of the Spanish original text.

This is an introductory workshops but previous acting training is needed (any level from beginners to BA students to professional actors or directors). Bring comfortable clothes.

If you would like to buy tickets to both workshops, please select the 11.15 timeslot and choose the ticket option ‘Both Workshops’.
