1) I would like to thank Mariví and the entire FesTeLõn team for their work, passion, enthusiasm and support for Spanish theatre in the UK. They have created a space in which we can connect, grow and learn. Thanks to the team and the tutors who selected my idea so that I can continue developing it. Thanks for your support, generosity, enthusiasm and work. Supporting FesTeLõn allows them to continue showcasing Spanish theatre outside of Spanish speaking countries. FesTeLõn allows the spirit of creators who live outside their home countries to flourish and it allows them to not only get exposed to new regions, but also to grow in a “multidiverse” environment.
Quisiera felicitar a Marivi y a todo el equipo de Festelon, por su trabajo, pasión, entusiasmo en apoyar la escena española en Inglaterra, apoyar a creadores españoles en Inglaterra. En facilitar un espacio donde generar conexiones para poder crecer, aprender y conectar. Gracias al equipo y a los tutores que han escogido mi idea para poder seguir desarrollándola. Gracias por vuestro apoyo, confianza, generosidad, curiosidad y trabajo. Apoyar a Festelon es importante para seguir exponiendo el teatro español fuera de sus fronteras nativas. Festelon permite mantener el espíritu de aquellos creadores que no viven en su tierra natal y ayuda a que no solo se expandan en otros territorios, sino que crezcan en un panorama multidiverso

2) Taking part in FesTeLOFF gave us a platform to be able to try out, develop and share our work. It also meant that we came into contact with other theatre professionals and could get to know their work just as they got to know ours. It was a great experience to be able to develop Spanish theatre in London. A fantastic experience.
Participar en festeloff nos dotó de una plataforma donde poder probar, desarrollar y compartir nuestra obra. Permitiéndonos entrar en contacto con otros profesionales teatrales, conociendo su trabajo a la vez que conocían el nuestro. Fue una gran experiencia para poder desarrollar el teatro español en Londres. Sin duda una gran experiencia.

2022
1) FestelOff believed in us when our show was only a seedling, and gave us our first opportunity to show ‘The ”S” Is SIlent’ in front of an audience. Thanks to the support of the festival and the valuable feedback we got from the FestelOff jury (who kept in contact with us beyond the festival itself), we developed our show into a fully-fledged piece that has now premiered in the Off-West-End to raving reviews.
We will be forever grateful to FestelOn for believing in us, and in other emerging companies and new theatrical work from Spanish creatives. Their diverse programme and lovely team gave us a community that made us feel at home far away from Spain.

2) E“Festeloff really is a great platform to celebrate Spanish theatre in London and provides a safe space for emerging artists to explore theatre in different cultural contexts. The structure of a jury panel giving feedback is incredibly helpful for the development of theatremakers and it was great to be a part of the celebration of new and experimenting theatre. ”

3) Participating in FesTeLOFF is the best thing that has happened to our company. Being a small theatre company, formed by inexperienced and recent theatre school graduates, having a platform to showcase our work has helped us to grow and develop our genre (which in our case is Clowning, in theatre).
Being a Biritish company, the festival has led us to explore our genre through texts that we would not normally have encountered, such as The Divorce Court Judge, by Miguel Cervantes.
But looking beyond the festival itself, FesTeLOFF has introduced our company to the ever-supportive extended FesTeLõn family, which is always so happy to provide great advice.
For us, FesTeLõn and specifically FesTeLOFF, will always be known as the space in which we were born and able to grow up, but also as a space that we will always be able to return to.
FesTeLOFF es lo mejor que le ha podido pasar a nuestra compañía. Siendo una compañía recién salida de la escuela y sin experiencia, tener una plataforma en la que poder mostrar nuestro trabajo nos ayudó a explorar de forma segura nuestro estilo y nuestro acercamiento al teatro (en nuestro caso, el Clown teatral).
Gracias al festival, además, pudimos explorarlo a través de textos que, como compañía británica, no habíamos considerado, como por ejemplo, El Juez de Los Divorcios, de Miguel de Cervantes.
Más allá del propio festival y de la experiencia adquirida, nuestra compañía ha podido beneficiarse de formar parte de una familia muy extensa, la familia FesTeLon, siempre dispuesta a aconsejar y apoyar.
FesTeLon -y, en concreto, FesTeLOFF- siempre serán para nosotros el lugar donde nacimos y crecimos. Un lugar al que siempre queremos volver.

4) LaGriot’te came into existence as a company with the help of FestelOff.
Thanks to the Festival and the team behind it we were able to move forward, with a beginner’s belief and enthusiasm, with our first original play, Jácara para un picaro o la España Negra (Satire for a Scoundrel, or Spain’s Dark Underbelly).
FestelOff was not only a stimulus but also a source of support which we still feel to this day, owing to the professional help we received throughout the creative process, and the fact that, thanks to their team of specialists, we were able to crystallise our ideas. Furthermore, in spite of the serious difficulties created as a result of the pandemic during this period, we benefitted from an artistic supervision that, although not physically present as a result of the circumstances, we could not fault in terms of the proximity and commitment towards the company on the part of the professional team.
We, as LaGriot’te, would recommend other companies to participate in the Festival, and encourage audiences not to miss the opportunity to enjoy the artistic quality and humanity offered by Festelon-Off.

LaGriot’te nació como compañía al amparo de FestelOff.
Gracias al Festival y al equipo que lo conforma, pudimos sacar hacia delante, con la
ilusión y las ganas propias de una primera vez nuestra obra primogénita Jácara para un
pícaro o la España negra.
No sólo nos sirvió como impulso sino como un respaldo que a día de hoy seguimos
sintiendo, debido a la ayuda profesional que recibimos en todo el proceso creativo y
que, gracias al equipo especializado, pudimos concretar aquellas ideas que nos
rondaban. En una época, además, en la que a pesar de la situación y las profundas
dificultades que acarreaba la pandemia, tuvimos un seguimiento artístico que, si bien
no era físico por las circunstancias, no fue algo que echáramos en falta por la cercanía y
la implicación por parte de los profesionales hacia la compañía.
Desde LaGriot’te animamos a aquellas compañías a participar en el Festival y al público
que no se pierda la oportunidad de disfrutar de la calidad artística y humana que
ofrecen desde Festelon – Off.

1) We had a great experience. There were clear dates in scheduling and support systems in place for any questions we had. We are appreciative of the personal touch throughout such as the Zoom meetings and calls. It made us feel that the family created was more important than the competition. We particularly like the fact that there is feedback for all the companies from the panel of judges.
Tuvimos una gran experiencia. Habían fechas claras en la programación y sistemas de apoyo implementados para cualquier pregunta que tuviéramos. Agradecemos el toque personal, por ejemplo a través de reuniones y llamadas de Zoom. Nos hizo sentir cómo la familia creada era más importante que la competencia. Nos gusta especialmente el hecho de que haya retroalimentación del jurado para todas las compañías.

1) We would have loved if things had been different and we had the chance to physically share our work with the entire team and the other companies, but despite the pandemic, we believe that you have adapted effectively to the circumstances and, above all, you have continued to fight for everything to go forward and support companies that, as in our case, are just starting out.
Nos hubiera encantado que las cosas hubieran sido de otra forma y compartir de forma física nuestro trabajo con todo el equipo y con el resto de compañías pero debido a la pandemia que nos acecha, creemos que habéis sabido adaptaros a las circunstancias y, sobre todo, habéis seguido luchando para que todo saliera hacia delante y apoyar a compañías que, como en nuestro caso, están empezando.

4) We are proud to have been part of this and to have had a deadline to encourage us to rehearse. We enjoyed meeting other companies, as well as the people who organised the festival. It has been a great experience!

5)Taking part in FesTeLOFF was an incredible experience! Having the opportunity to be part of something during lockdown was a huge motivator. It brought us together and allowed us to practice our craft! This opportunity was so important to me, it helped me discover myself as a director which has opened up new opportunities. We were also able to establish our theatre company through FesTeLOFF!

1) The experience of participating in the FesTeLOFF jury within this edition of FesTeLõn – with thanks to Mariví Rodríguez Quiñones for the kind invitation – has been a different way of approaching and learning about some interesting works proposed by new creators. Their views on different texts, classic or of their own creation, suppose a fresh and daring air at a time when they are more necessary than ever, and a sign of an important renewal of the scenic languages, taking risks and looking for new paths. Thanks to FesTeLõn for this event and to the companies and creators for continuing to bet on theater and for continuing to believe in the need for telling stories together.
La experiencia de participar en el jurado de FesTeLOff, dentro de esta edición de FesTeLõn y gracias a la amable invitación de Mariví Rodríguez Quiñones, ha supuesto una manera diferente de abordar y conocer algunos interesantes trabajos propuestos por nuevos creadores. Sus miradas sobre textos diferentes, clásicos o de propia creación, suponen un aire fresco y atrevido en un momento en el que son más necesarias que nunca, y un síntoma de renovación importante de los lenguajes escénicos, asumiendo riesgos y buscando nuevos caminos. Gracias a FesTeLõn por esta ocasión y a las compañías y los creadores por seguir apostando por el teatro y por seguir creyendo en la necesidad de contar historias juntos.

2) The FesTeLOFF experience has been a pleasure. It has inspired me and given me the faith to continue with my work. I sincerely believe that these kinds of initiatives expand the means by which young, aspiring theatre companies and writers can engage with theatre. In the same vein, I believe that they introduce the public to new pieces of work that go beyond and offer something different to well-known, commercialised plays or shows. As part of a society’s cultural and artistic development, and as Michael Chekov said, for the good of the future of theatre, it is vital that there exists a space that supports emerging writers.
FesTeLOFF has created a space that, in spite of the current pandemic, has fostered the creation of creative, original works. This festival has served as a wake-up call in the face of the lock-down and closure of theaters; in spite of resounding apathy, a sense of action and vigour has arisen. The emerging theater companies took hold of the baton and unleashed their creativity. They expressed themselves through new and different languages in order to conjure their novel and original works. That is how artists respond to adversity.
FesTeLOFF is a necessary tool for any society that seeks to keep its art and culture thriving. It has been a remarkable boost that has kept the souls of these aspiring young thespians alive, showing that a future for theater is possible. As Agatha Christie once wrote, “I learned that that one can never go back, that one should not ever try to go back—that the essence of life is going forward. Life is really a one way street.”

La experiencia de FesTeLOFF ha sido muy gratificante. Lo ha dicho por varias razones que quisiera apuntar a continuación.
Creo sinceramente que este tipo de iniciativas impulsan el acceso a los canales de distribución por parte de las jóvenes compañías y/o jóvenes creador@s.
De igual modo, considero que favorecen el acceso por parte del público a nuevas propuestas más allá de las propuestas habituales de programación comercial.
Dentro del desarrollo cultural y artístico de una sociedad se me hace muy necesario un espacio que apueste por l@s nuevos creadores, por el teatro del futuro que diría Michael Chekhov.
La organización de FesTeLOFF ha propiciado un espacio de encuentro entre artistas y público que, aún a pesar de la situación de pandemia actual, ha permitido ofrecer unos trabajos originales y creativos transformando la carencia en una oportunidad.
Este festival ha sido un revulsivo al confinamiento y al cierre de los espacios escénicos. De la apatía se pasó a la acción. L@s jóvenes compañías tomaron el testigo y, dando rienda suelta a su creatividad, hicieron uso de nuevos lenguajes expresivos para hacer llegar sus frescas y originales propuestas. Así es como el arte responde ante la adversidad.
FesTeLOFF es una herramienta necesaria para toda sociedad que pretenda mantener viva la llama del arte y la cultura. Ha sido un bendito empujón que ha mantenido activas las almas de estas jóvenes promesas del teatro ofreciendo un futuro posible.
Como escribió Agatha Christie: “aprendí que no se puede dar marcha atrás, que la esencia de la vida es ir hacia delante. La vida, en realidad, es una calle de sentido único”.

3) It is always a pleasure to be introduced to different pieces of work created from many different perspectives that show, one again, that theatre is versatile and provides numerous opportunities, and that every experience, every sensation, allows us to live through new and exciting realities. This year, again, FesTeLõn has supported the dramatic arts during the extraordinary and difficult times through which we are currently living, and through which, once again, we fight to show the necessity of arts and culture. It has been a pleasure to form part of the jury and be surrounded by other professionals whom I admire and respect. Long live theatre and long live FesTeLõn.
Es siempre gratificante encontrar nuevos trabajos hechos desde muy diferentes ángulos y que demuestran, una vez más, que el teatro es un arte múltiple, polivalente, en el que cada experiencia, cada sensibilidad, nos permite caminar por direcciones nuevas e interesantes. FesTeLõn, un año más, apuesta y apoya las artes escénicas, en unos momentos tan especiales y difíciles como los que estamos viviendo y en los que, una vez más, luchar por la cultura es tan necesario.
