Brief Description
What are the connections between rhyme, classical poetry and hip hop? Ovillejos and terza rima in a rap groove?
We invite you to a workshop in which we’ll explore the creative process behind La Calderona, where we’ll explain how the show evolved and, in particular, how we constructed and adapted classical poetic forms to create hip hop beats. Our team will include the Artistic Director, the Playwright, the Stage Director, the DJ and the two actors, with whom we’ll discuss this unusual show and fusion of styles.

Brief Description
Watch and interact with the actors from “La Margarita del Tajo que dio nombre a Santarén” as they do vocal and physical warm-ups before a show.
For forty minutes, we will all practise doing all the exercises that the actors do to hone their voices, projection, breathing and bodies.

WORKSHOP: THE TRAGIC CHORUS IN CONTEMPORARY DRAMATIC ARTS

Brief Description
Projecte Ingenu / Proyecto Ingenuo is a theatre company formed in Barcelona in 2013, which places its creative accent on the actor as the centre of on-stage creativity. This has led the company to revisit classical resources such as the tragic chorus, understanding and using it as a valid tool for contemporary dramatic activities.
We propose a 1 hour and a half-workshop in which to familiarise ourselves and experiment with the tragic chorus as a tool, in a dynamic and playful way, taking us on a journey through the outer reaches of theatre, dance and song.

Brief Description
This is the definition written in TOPIC’s visitors’ book by one of the guests who had just finished a tour of our Centre. He was talking about what he had just seen meant to him. I think he defines it pretty well, and that’s what I aim to explain in this talk. All the things that TOPIC actually represents: a Museum, a School, a Workshop, a Documentation Centre, a Creative Centre, a Theatre … a space in which the magic of MARIONETTE OR PUPPET THEATRE is present in capital letters in each of our 3,600 square metres. It’s a space in which to preserve, disseminate, teach, create and research the art of Marionette Theatre.
Marionette Theatre is a dramatic form as old as mankind and one of the most complete artistic disciplines in existence. This talk is intended to be an introduction to the fascinating and little-known world of marionettes and their myriad possibilities.

Brief Description
Hello,
My name’s Patricia Cercas and I’m from the Spanish theatre company La Machina Teatro. As part of Festelon, we are going to put on a show for little children called Crickets and Fireflies. It’s all about night and day, how we can get scared at night, what happens when it gets dark, what are the noises and sounds we can hear and the lights we can see, because the night is full of lights as well. We’ll tell you all about these things during the show (which is really fantastic) and afterwards you’ll be able to meet the actors. So, anyone who wants to can stay behind after the show and meet the actors and the technician. He’s the one who turns the lights on and off so that the stage is turned into night and then into day. We’ll try and explain to you how we put it all together, how we got the idea, where we got the songs from and where we got all the different bits of scenery from. We’ve used drawings done by children just like the ones who come and see the show for most of the scenery. There are some stories in the show too and some of those are our own stories, because we all started thinking about what made us scared when we were little. So, anyone who wants to stay behind after the show will find out about all this. We’ve got a little magic trick as well that we’d like to show you, because there are lots of lights and fireflies, but are there really fireflies in the show or are the fireflies a magic trick?
You’ll only find out if you stay behind after the show! So, now you know. On Sunday, anyone who wants to find out about all about the secrets in Crickets and Fireflies, stay behind with us and you’ll have the answer. We’ll be waiting for you!
